The Senkaku Capriccio

On the New Year's day one patriotic Chinese (allegedly a 35-years old cook) took a hot-air balloon and attempted to land on one of the Senkaku Islands, which China claims as its own. He could not reach the island (it is about 150 kilometers far from the mainland China), and started drifting on the sea.

For some reason he asked help with the Taiwan Maritime Authority, and the latter for some reason approached Japanese Coast Guard to ask for his rescue. The Japanese Coast Guard found him in Japanese territorial water, rescued and handed him over to a Chinese Coast Guard ship.

It is judicially so complicated, but the handling was very calm and reasonable.
