Can the China Shock Doom Japan to the Abyss?

The Chinese economy is beginning to falter. I won't go into details here, but suffice it to say that China's economy is markedly different from the economies of Western countries. Throughout the ages of dynastic rule, and with the added influence of socialist economics, the Chinese economy has been characterized by centralized control, and is driven more by regulation than by market forces. Analyze such an economy with the tools of modern economics, and you will likely be left with armchair theories. While some privately-managed industries are doing well, they will probably suffer setbacks due to a number of systemic factors.
